Of all the Christmas specials, I would have to say the Snow Miser was my favorite… How ’bout you?

Woolly Bear caterpillar. I’m not sure if it’s the name or the actual caterpillar. I just find it cute. Folklore says it can predict the weather. If it has a wide copper stripe, it is supposed to be a mild winter. Narrow copper band means a more severe winter. the copper band size really just relates to the maturity of the caterpillar. This caterpillar actually hibernates.
Cute, huh? Found this handsome devil in my backyard.

I can’t believe it’s been an entire year since I posted last. Well, if anything I am consistant. And I still suck at blogging. Anyway, here’s my latest project. It is a felted brimmed hat that I decorated with wild turkey feathers.
The feathers were collected from this handsome guy:
His feathers are so iridescent. He is pretty handsome for a wild turkey. Now I just need to find a good project for my peacock feathers! On a sad note…This August 6th, I lost my beloved maltese, Angel. She had gotten very sick in a short amount of time. We miss her terribly. Here is a picture of her being her rascally self. She alway made us laugh. RIP, my love.

OK. So I thought I’d leap into the 21st century and start a blog. I’m really doing this so I can add some knitting designs. Not that I’m a designer or anything, but sometimes an idea that I have pans out.
A little bit about me:
I’m a middle-aged, married, mother of 2 (now that’s an opening statement that’ll keep you reading!). I like ranting. It may seem strange, but I feel “better out than in”.
Although, I’m not sure ranting helps because I need blood pressure meds. I’ll get to what I like ranting about later…
Things that I enjoy are:
Watching my kids play their sports.
Horror movies (I would LOVE to be a horror movie make-up artist)
Skiing (it’s been on the back burner for a few years)
Softball (and keeping the books)
Reality TV (yeah, yeah, I know…insert eye roll.)
But most of all…KNITTING!
Knitting has saved me thousands in therapy bills! On the other hand, those thousands “saved” have been used to buy yarn.
Plus I LOVE to laugh and have a sense of humor that can best be described as “sardonically irreverant”
As for this, I still have a lot to figure out. I’m hoping that it will also make me a little more computer saavy. “Hope is eternal”…whatever.
