Of all the Christmas specials, I would have to say the Snow Miser was my favorite… How ’bout you?

Woolly Bear caterpillar. I’m not sure if it’s the name or the actual caterpillar. I just find it cute. Folklore says it can predict the weather. If it has a wide copper stripe, it is supposed to be a mild winter. Narrow copper band means a more severe winter. the copper band size really just relates to the maturity of the caterpillar. This caterpillar actually hibernates.
Cute, huh? Found this handsome devil in my backyard.

I can’t believe it’s been an entire year since I posted last. Well, if anything I am consistant. And I still suck at blogging. Anyway, here’s my latest project. It is a felted brimmed hat that I decorated with wild turkey feathers.
The feathers were collected from this handsome guy:
His feathers are so iridescent. He is pretty handsome for a wild turkey. Now I just need to find a good project for my peacock feathers! On a sad note…This August 6th, I lost my beloved maltese, Angel. She had gotten very sick in a short amount of time. We miss her terribly. Here is a picture of her being her rascally self. She alway made us laugh. RIP, my love.

I guess I really don’t have that much to say. Survivor is boring me to death and I was happy to see the divorcee’s eliminated from Amazing Race. Karma sucks.
I’m frantically knitting for the holidays…so hopefully I’ll have more to add.
I did finally give wet-felting a try. My Ravelry friend, Woolthumb, does some amazing work and got me motivated. Here’s my first attempt. I think I tried to add too much detail. I’ll needle felt the rest of the details.

I am a reality tv junkie. Is it truly reality? No. I know that. So on with my rant…
Survivor Gabon: Is it just me or are these people REALLY BORING? I enjoyed hating on Randy during the 1st episode but after watching the 2nd episode I understand his acrimonious attitude. The best part of the show? Watching Charlie lust after Marcus. I wonder if he was aware that Marcus’ floppy disc made an appearance during the 2nd immunity challenge? (I’m not going to add pics, they can be found all over the internet.
So as of the 2nd episode, I’m really not finding any of the divisiveness that makes for an interesting show.
Current Favorites: Crystal, Ken and Bob
Dislike: Randy and KC
Next tribal Council guess: Fang: KC goes
Kota: One of the insipids. (I call them this because they are so boring, I can’t even be bothered learning their names.
TAR: I’m enjoying this show a little more than survivor because it has a spicier cast. My favorite couple to hate? Hands down, Terence and Sarah
I hope they stick around for a while because Terence’s antics crack me up. I truly believe that when he got that miniscule cut, his red blood cells were probably fighting to escape. Would YOU want to be trapped in that man? Sarah really needs to sit down and watch this show after she is done. Enough said.
Frat boys: Leave. Get off my television. You are not fun to watch. You are not even good at being annoying. I’m not even interested in learning your names. You have 0 chance of winning.
Ken and Tina: Ken, you cheated on her and want to make good. She knows this and will lead you around by your dick for the rest of your life. Maybe you deserve this.
Mark and Bill My favorites! They are geekishly delicious to watch. I think that they are so innocuous that people will overlook them. They are not physically fit so they don’t pose a threat. I hope that is not their downfall. I hope they go far.
The rest: Meh… Nobody else is making an impression. I’m sure I’ll change my mind from week to week.

OK. So I thought I’d leap into the 21st century and start a blog. I’m really doing this so I can add some knitting designs. Not that I’m a designer or anything, but sometimes an idea that I have pans out.
A little bit about me:
I’m a middle-aged, married, mother of 2 (now that’s an opening statement that’ll keep you reading!). I like ranting. It may seem strange, but I feel “better out than in”.
Although, I’m not sure ranting helps because I need blood pressure meds. I’ll get to what I like ranting about later…
Things that I enjoy are:
Watching my kids play their sports.
Horror movies (I would LOVE to be a horror movie make-up artist)
Skiing (it’s been on the back burner for a few years)
Softball (and keeping the books)
Reality TV (yeah, yeah, I know…insert eye roll.)
But most of all…KNITTING!
Knitting has saved me thousands in therapy bills! On the other hand, those thousands “saved” have been used to buy yarn.
Plus I LOVE to laugh and have a sense of humor that can best be described as “sardonically irreverant”
As for this, I still have a lot to figure out. I’m hoping that it will also make me a little more computer saavy. “Hope is eternal”…whatever.

If you decide to knit this up, let me know how it turned out! Thanks!
Now I know why I have not started a blog earlier. I’m having trouble trying to figure this all out. I want instant gratification. I’m such a damn computer “nub”. That’s my 15y/o’s new word. If I mention I need help with anything, she calls me a nub. I thought the word was “noob”. I digress. I want to add pictures (done). I want this to be colorful. I want this to be exciting. F*#%!! I want it all! (there. just made it colorful).
I’m going to have to wait until she gets home before I can put pictures within my posts. She’ll help me and call me “nub” several times. sigh.
